🌺 Aloha from Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii

The Resort

My first trip to Hawaii, the Aloha State, was a birthday celebration for one of my closest friends. We stayed at Disney's Aulani, which is located on the island of Oahu and is one of Disney's three standalone resort properties. The other two are Disney's Vero Beach Resort in Florida and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina. If you have ever stayed at a deluxe Disney Resort, Aulani has the same style and homey feeling as a deluxe villa at Walt Disney World or Disneyland. We absolutely loved it! ❤️

The Villa

Our 2-bedroom Island Gardens View villa has 1,125 square feet of space and sleeps up to 9 guests. With two full bathrooms and a half bath, there is 1 king bed in the master bedroom, 2 queens in the the second bedroom, 1 queen sleeper sofa, and 1 sleeper chair in the living room. The villa also has a full kitchen with a dishwasher.

The Luau

In the spirit of the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show once held at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Aulani hosts Ka Wa‘a – A Lū‘au on Oʻahu. We enjoyed fun pre-show activities, an open bar, a large buffet with Hawaiian favorites, and a family-friendly lū‘au performance. The show included a storytelling journey with hula dancing, fire dancing, and an appearance by Mickey. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect, and the show was excellent. What a great experience!

The Island

Sometimes clients become friends. Sherrie, a client-turned-friend who was born and raised in Hawaii, took us on an amazing 7-hour tour of the island. We ate lunch at her husband’s restaurant, Sugoi, saw her house and neighborhood, stopped at a lookout point for some storytelling, drove up to the North Shore to get the best shave ice at Matsumoto's, and went shopping. We loved spending time with Sherrie and experiencing Hawaii with a local!
